June 5, 2009, Newsletter Issue #169: The Shelf Life of Inkjet Ink Cartridges

Tip of the Week

DataBazaar.com Tip: You’re probably aware that frequent usage of your inkjet cartridge will speed the process of using up your ink. But did you know that your inkjet ink cartridges also have a shelf life? Inkjet ink cartridges need to be stored in a cool, dry place for maximum longevity. Given optimum conditions, you can expect your inkjet cartridge to last anywhere from 18 to 24 months sitting by the wayside. One way to check the shelf life of your inkjet ink cartridges is to look on the packaging. Look for an install by date and end of warranty date or similar verbiage listed on the product specifications. When purchasing spare ink, it’s important to have a replacement for your inkjet ink cartridges on hand, but plan ahead and figure out when you’ll actually need to use the ink for maximum usage out of a cartridge.
