How To Clean The HP Toner Cartridge Drum

DataBazaar.com Tip: If you're noticing the quality of your HP printouts is changing over time, it may be time to clean the HP toner cartridge drum. When specks and smear marks start to appear on your prints, that could be a sign that dust and toner particles are accumulating on the inside of your printer. To fix the problem, you just need about 10 minutes to clean the inside of your HP toner cartridge drum. Here's how you do it.

1. First, make sure that your HP toner cartridge drum isn't already empty before you start the cleaning process, since that could be the cause of poor printouts.
2. Turn on the printer and make sure you have paper loaded.
3. Press the job cancel button on your printer and the cleaning process for your HP toner cartridge drum will take about 10 minutes.

It's worth noting that frequent cleaning will use up your toner and reduce its lifespan.

different printers use different cleaning techniques. For HP 2200 series, make sure there is a transparency or copier-grade paper in the tray, then press and hold the large Go button on front for 10 or more seconds, then release.
